NEW COMMANDANT CFS Command of the Central Flying School was handed over from Gp Capt Mike Jordan to Gp Capt at RAF Cranwell on 11th October 2024. Gp Capt Flynn is the 58th Commandant CFS, and only the second from a Rotary Wing background. His immediate focus will be to build on recent successes in the implementation of continuous professional development for all flying instructors, while strengthening the relationships between CFS and front-line flying training units.  On behalf of all of us, my grateful thanks go to Mike Jordan for his excellent support of the CFS Association during his tenure as Commandant CFS. On taking command, Group Captain Flynn said: “I’m extremely proud to have been given the opportunity to lead one of the most well-established and respected military flying training organisations in the world. With the motto ‘Our teaching is everlasting’, the CFS is renowned for high instructional standards and professional excellence, and I look forward to building on that reputation both at home and overseas.”
